This week is going to be pretty busy for me as I prepare for a huge exam that I have on Friday.
Essentially this test is based on NOTHING I have learned thus far in my program. It is more about the things I have learned through out my life, and that makes me nervous as all get out.
I have done what I needed to do, I think, to get me ready for this big exam. So how do I calm my nerves?
As with any event the best thing that I can think of is mentally picturing yourself being successful on that day. Regardless of the event. For example, you’re getting married. Some people are very nervous right before they walk down the aisle. If you are nervous visualize the events happening and how want them to happen. It is almost like the more you visualize it the more you will believe it will happen.
This can be done. My band teacher used to have us do this right before each performance, and individually we would preform the way we visualized ourselves. Was that the reason why we won so many times? Probably not, but it did give us confidence. If no one else will believe in you, then you will believe in you. And why not you are your biggest investment!
Give it a try. What do you have to lose? Something coming up? Say a school play, visualize yourself giving a Tony winning performance. Then tell me how you do!
(Any good vibes please send them my way! I really need to pass this test! 🙂
Until next time!
